Best edible plant guide?
« Back to Previous Page| ▲ ▼ | I'm looking for a field guide, survival handbook or otherwise that details the identification and preparation of wild plant life. Anybody have any recommendations? It can be part of a larger book, if that book contains a nice detailed section on the subject. | 
| ▲ ▼ | 'The Foragers Harvest' by Samuel Thayer has always steered me right. Its not really oriented towards "survivalist" foraging, but has a lot of great info on wild plants which can be readily found, as well as how they can be properly identified and prepped for eating.

I have take some of the workshops and they are very informative and precise about the safety of the plant. Highly recommend the book and his classes, through Wild Food Adventures.com |
