I want to redesign my bathroom and i don't know what king of shower drain to buy. I find some websites with shower drains reviews: houzz.com and best-shower-drains.com and i want to buy a linear shower drain, but i don't know what is the best? With tile insert system or with grate? Please let me know? Thank you.

Yeah, crazy how expensive some of these drains can get. Infinity Drains seems to be one of the better linear-drain options but they’re not cheap. Haven’t tried the ones from Signature Hardware but they’re a LOT less. Also look at Ebbe drains – they don’t make a linear one yet but allegedly have one coming in early 2017 and based on the current stuff they should be good quality at a reasonable price.

Choosing a drain is complicated. Some things to consider are the structure of your floor (will it accommodate a linear drain), the type of waterproofing (where it is installed, how it ties into the drain, what material it is made of). I usually use Infinity drains because they are available in any length and in all the required configurations but they do not always work with the structure of any given floor. Basically, it’s kind of complicated.

It’s not that easy to choose a shower drain. You have to consider both the practicality, the structure and, of course, the design. A drain affects the overall style of the bathroom, so it is important to choose the one that will help you maintain the integrity of the design. How to do that? Well, that is not so simple. For starters, try to get something you really like.

I just bought one from Amazon for pretty cheap. Just search amazon. I found a good shower head to for under $25 bucks and a drain for $10.
