I have a pair of vintage Bausch and Lomb sunglasses that are scratched. What is the best way to remove scratches from the glass lenses?

I inherited an old pair of Bausch and Lomb Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses that are in good shape except for some light surface scratches on the front of the lenses. The scratches affect visibility, but not significantly. It also does not look like that the glasses have any multi-coating. They appear to be glass lenses, and I would really like to figure out a way to affordably and safely remove the scratches.. Is there a best bet for removing scratches from glass lenses?

I have read that Cerium Oxide works, but many warn that you shouldn't use it on sunglasses as you may unintentionally remove a layer of multi-coating or UV protection. I am fairly confident these older B&L sunglasses aren't, but is there anything else I should know before moving forward?
