Night time reading list for 7 1/2 yr. old boy

Wanted to let you all know that our son chose, First contact : scientific breakthroughs in the hunt for life beyond Earth to have me read each night. We are on the 5th night of reading and he seems to be enjoying it. Pretty dry expose on extremophile life on earth and the potential in space. Thanks to everyone for contributing and please keep those titles coming, we'll be looking for another title soon. Each night before bed I read to my son and I was wondering if any one had some ideas about what to read next. The list of books we've read to date is generally non-fiction and tends toward science. Here a list of books I recall reading to him to give you an idea:
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Not to worry, we read lots of Garfield, Magic School Bus and other more kid oriented books during the day but not at bedtime. Thanks! |

I don't know if you intend on continuing with the theme of non-fiction, but I really enjoyed A Short History of Pretty Much Everything by Bill Bryson. |

We did "The Hobbit" earlier this year, six and a half year old boy. He really liked it, spoiled him for anything less literary but I suppose that's a good thing. -C |

Any of Bryson's would be great, but I think that you both might enjoy the Dangerous Book for Boys[1] |
