I'm looking for rugged, lightweight go-everywhere boots. Not rain boots, not muckwear boots, just go everywhere... |

These used to be the answer: http://kk.org/cooltools/archives/000119.php But the CT editors have un-recommended them! |

Choosing boots should be about your own personal opinion and comfort. No one has the same foot and stride. You just have to try boots on until you find something you prefer. |

I have been using Altama Jungle Boots(I live in Florida) for years. They were designed to be worn for long periods of time and have held up fairly well considering the abuse I have heaped on them. Getting them on and off is a chore, but once they have conformed to your feet, you will hardly notice them. |

I've had great experiences with Haix boots . Their GSG9 model is my go-to boot for hiking and rough urban terrain, but I've also heard good things about their Airpower line. If you don't like the military style, they also have a selection of hunting boots which share similar construction but have a more casual look. In any case, the construction of their product is top-notch from my experience, and they'll even make a custom size boot in any of their models if you have a hard-to-fit foot. |

I love my Redwings for a simple, rugged work boot I can wear anywhere. They've lasted for years. |

Up here in Toronto, Australian Blundstones are really practical for 9 months of the year. Smart enough for the office, tough enough for the bad weather and working outside. If I had to grab only one piece of footwear, my 471 Chunksole Blundstones are an easy choice. |
