I have a bad back, can't bend, is there a long shoehorn? |
▲ ▼ |
Yes, there are long shoe horns, the best being made from Bamboo. The longer style means that you wont have to bend to slip on a pair of shoes and using a shoe horn helps prolong the life of your shoes as there is less risk of damaging the heel area. You can find them online on Amazon and other places if you Google search for "Long Bamboo Shoe horn" Avoid getting them from IKEA unless you don not care about bad products. |

I've got the same problem with reaching my feet. I go to Grocery Outlet here in Tucson and they have some off-the-wall products marked down enough to make buying them seem like not a totally bad idea, and that's where I got my ShoeDini. I forget what I paid for it. It telescopes from about 21 to about 30 inches and there's nothing hip or elegant about it but it helps me get my shoes on when I need it. You can get it from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Shoe-Dini-Telescoping-Horn/dp/B0039JSDPS If it ain't your cup of tea, there are lots of others there in the "Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed" section. |

If you go to rural china anytime soon, I recommend the very long shoe horns they make from water buffalo horn. They are very cheap and perfect. |

I have one I really like that is sturdy and long-lasting and expensive. But it is SO worth it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KJT1HO/ref=wms_ohs_product_T2 Because of the spring at the bottom it is more maneuverable than regular long shoe horns, ending a lot of frustration. Over the lifetime of the shoe horn, the price is justified in my book. |

I picked one of those bamboo ones from an Asian supermarket. You can probably find one these in the household item isle. Check there, it costs ~$5. |

The long one in this set is 23 inches. Made of metal by a Swedish household products manufacturer Linden. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=348252 You get two shorter ones to give away. |
