Super-durable ZipLoc-type Bags?

Freezer-grade ZipLoc bags are a magnitude better (in a durability sense) than sandwich-grade bags. Are there any such bags another magnitude or two better yet?

I know about the clear vinyl bank bags (which are great), but I'm hoping to find ZipLoc types as an option too.

You can get mylar bags with a zipper top. http://www.amazon.com/Mylar-Ziplock-Food-Storage-Bags/dp/B004WYTCEA for instance.

  • Just got some in today. These (aLokSak) appear to be exactly what I was looking for. One of the things that bug me about the usual zip bags is separating the two lips so I can get a grip on them to open - these aLokSaks do not seem to have that problem at all. I hope they're as durable as they seem to be; time will tell.

  • I like these bags a lot, very silky and easy to "operate" - some other bags are hard to separate the lips in order to open them, but not these.

    But they're not as tough as I hope for. Not flimsy either, but they will succumb to a beating...

    The variety of sizes is a real plus for my purposes, I use four sizes currently. One has some holes in it where it rubbed against something else. My fault, really, but if they made the same thing with some thicker material, I'd go for it!
