Sanuk Yoga Slings are made from recycled yoga mats and are unbelievably comfortable to walk around in. The thong sandals have stretchy fabric straps that you can pull around your ankle so that they never fall off. I gave a pair to my mother-in-law, who was born and raised in Hawaii and maybe the ultimate authority on flip-flops, and she loves them. — Claudia Dawson
I wasn’t sure if I would like the Philips Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock, but in one month it’s trained me to wake up earlier, naturally. I set the alarm for the time I want to wake up and the light gradually increases beginning about 20 minutes before the alarm is set to go off. During that time is when I usually wake up. When the wake-up light doesn’t work, I get woken up by the sounds of birds chirping. Either way, I’m never startled or grumpy. — CD
Hands-down my favorite purchase this year was this $19 butter crock. It feels like a luxury to always have soft butter available. It works better in cooler climates. I keep mine on the kitchen island away from the stove area and add an ice cube to the water every few days. — Claudia Dawson
I transfer this instant bag hanger clip ($16) from bag to bag. It perfect for places without purse hooks. It can hold up to 30 pounds, so I don’t have to worry about it dropping my backpack with my laptop inside. — Claudia Dawson
This Streamlight ProTac HL Flashlight is a crazy bright police style flashlight. Heavy and battery-intensive, but worth it for the brightness. It has a strobe option, too. — Andrea James (What’s in my Bag? issue 14)
