Water Bottle SplashGuard

Splash-free drinking for most wide-mouth reusable water bottles

I’ve had a wide-mouth Nalgene bottle for over a decade now, and I still can’t walk while drinking from it without getting water up my nose. A few years ago, a friend showed me that his bottle had a little gasket ($6) in it to reduce the splashing. Last month, I finally caved and bought one. It’s made of soft silicone, with a snug press fit in the top of any 2-inch wide-mouth bottle. Don’t worry, though; it’s easy to fish out if you push it in too far. It has two openings – one profiled to fit your open lips, and the other slotted to allow air venting while being easy to pinch for removal. It keeps me from pouring water down my front (awful on cold days), or splashing my glasses. I believe these benefits apply to any brand of similar product, but I have only used the one in the link. I drink more water as a result, because I don’t have to stop what I’m doing. I’m very glad this little upgrade gave my old Nalgene new life!
