A tool I recently purchased to help with this is a screw activated cable swaging tool. This tool is more compact and a lot cheaper than those large &#8220;plier&#8221; type tools, and I found it easier to operate and control. I used a 1\/2&#8243; drive socket wrench to turn the bolts and I swaged cables while I held the tool in my lap. The tool is American made and the bolts come pre-lubed. I was dubious at first, but I was really impressed by the quality of the crimps. They look like they were done in a professional hydraulic press. Here&#8217;s a photo of some of the crimps I did.
