It costs 2 dollars. It’s made of day-glo orange plastic. I use it like a pocket knife for opening and liberating all kinds of things, but it weighs almost nothing (no pocket wear), is easy to re-sharpen (snap off the end), instant to engage, quick to put back. They are so cheap and featherweight I keep one in all my pants, coats, bags. If I lose it I don’t care. I really miss having them when I travel by air (although I know from unintentional experience they are usually undetectable by the machines.) — KK

TV show streaming:
I upgraded my old Fire Stick media streamer to the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote ($40). Navigating to a show is as simple as pressing the talk button and saying “Play Jiro Dreams of Sushi.” It will search all your subscribed media services (Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Amazon Prime) and instantly return what you want. You can also say, “Order Dominos pizza.” What more could you ask for? — MF

Browser tip:
I was elated (not an exaggeration) to find out that I could create more room on my Chrome bookmarks bar just by right clicking edit and deleting the text. Now all I have are favicons to click on and my browser looks much neater and organized. Works on Firefox too, just right click properties. — CD

Rent software:
Setapp is like Netflix for Mac users. $10 a month gives you unlimited access to high-quality applications, like Flume, World Clock Pro, Chronicle, and Forecast Bar. New apps are introduced frequently. You can try it free for a month (no credit card needed) See all the apps here. — MF

Email tip:
How to unsend sent email. There are many reasons you might want to undo (or redo) an email you sent. A common reason for me is that I just remembered something I wanted to add. Gmail has a little known “undo” feature that you have to enable. (Official instructions.) On the web, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, select “Settings.” About a third-way down the list check “Enable Undo Send.” Pick the 30-second maximum grace period. Be sure to “save changes.” Now when you send an email in Gmail you get a little box in the upper center just below the blue/white magnifying glass in the search box, that says “Your mail was sent”. For 30 seconds you have the chance to click on “Undo”. It reopens your message to give you the chance to edit or delete. — KK

60-second worry soother:
Pixel Thoughts is a simple website that just wants to help. Type whatever you’re stressed about into the star and watch it fade away into the universe, while relaxing music is played and you’re reminded that everything will be okay. Works better on desktop, but there is an app. — CD

[2323
2324
