\nGoogle\u2019s\u00a0Talk to Books<\/a>\u00a0uses experimental AI to browse book passages that respond to your questions. I asked \u201cHow can I time travel?\u201d and got back a\u00a0rabbit hole of responses<\/a>. It\u2019s pretty much a dream come true. \u2014 CD<\/p>\n

Plastic razor blades<\/strong>
\nThese<\/a>\u00a0look like old fashioned safety razor blades, but they\u2019re made of plastic and you can\u2019t shave with them. You can\u2019t cut paper with them, either. But they excel as scrapers. Put one into the included handle and you can cleanly remove labels and stickers stuck to almost any surface (add a bit of\u00a0Goo Gone<\/a>\u00a0to speed up the process, if you wish). I used one to clean the labels off a\u00a0cigar box<\/a>\u00a0for a project I recently made. \u2014 MF<\/p>\n

Instant photo prints<\/strong>
\nI will never go back to analog film, no matter how retro hip it becomes. Digital photography is just better in all respects \u2014 except for one special case. When I shoot in exotic localities I carry a\u00a0Fuji Instax Mini<\/a>\u00a0which produces small \u2014 quite small \u2014 instant prints, similar to Polaroids. Portraits done with these and instantly handed out are wonderful icebreakers. Popular at parties as a mini photo-booth, too. \u2014 KK<\/p>\n

Mindful eating tip<\/strong>
\nIn a now-deleted\u00a0Reddit LPT<\/a>\u00a0that stuck with me, I read that in France people do not eat to the point of being stuffed or rarely say \u201cI am full,\u201c instead they say “Je n’ai plus faim\u201d which translates into \u201cI am no longer hungry.\u201d My French neighbor couldn\u2019t verify if this was true, but even so it\u2019s a good mindset to have when eating.\u00a0Especially when dining out or in a friend\u2019s home where I feel pressured to finish everything on my plate. \u2014 CD<\/p>\n

What song is that?<\/strong>
\nMaybe everyone already knows this, but I just figured out you can ask Siri on your phone to identify music playing in the background. No need to load an app; similar function is built in to Android, too. But further coolness: if you go into the iPhone\u2019s iTunes Store app, tap Menu upper left, then tap Siri, you get a list of all your queries so that, of course, if you want to buy the music, there it is. At least it\u2019s a way to record\/remember the new tunes. \u2014 KK<\/p>\n

Faster way to make yogurt<\/strong>
\nIf you don\u2019t boil milk before using it to make yogurt, it will end up runny. But it takes time to boil the milk, then let it cool down before adding the starter. I recently learned that when using ultrapasteurized (or ultra high temperature) milk instead of pasteurized milk, you don\u2019t need to boil the milk first. I\u2019ve been using my\u00a0Instant Pot<\/a>\u00a0lately to make yogurt. I just pour in a half-gallon of ultrapasteurized milk, stir in a tablespoon of yogurt, secure the lid, and press the \u201cyogurt\u201d button. Eight hours later, it\u2019s ready! \u2014 MF<\/p>\n
