The exercises are trivial, maybe even silly, such as following an ant for as long you can, or counting to 1,000, or listening to a recording of your own voice. It shifts your perspective for a small aha. The book offers 101 of these mindfulness moments. It prompted me to invent my own ways to astonish myself. \u2014 KK<\/p>\n<p><strong>Find your personal style<\/strong><br \/>\nI like to feel comfortable in whatever I\u2019m wearing and have never considered what my personal style might be. For the past two years, it\u2019s been loungewear, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/04\/07\/1091487340\/what-should-i-wear-forget-fashion-trends-and-find-your-personal-style?utm_campaign=Recomendo&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">this comic strip by NPR Life Kit<\/a>\u00a0inspired me to change that. It\u2019s a cute, visual guide that will walk you through cultivating your personal style and developing a shopping philosophy. \u2014 CD<\/p>\n<p><strong>A puzzling book<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019m a big fan of author A.J. Jacobs. He embarks on crazy self-experiments \u2014 like reading the entire\u00a0<em>Encyclopedia Britannica<\/em>, or living according the the rules in the Bible for a year \u2014 and writing books about them. His latest book is called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geni.us\/the-puzzler?utm_campaign=Recomendo&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Puzzler: One Man\u2019s Quest to Solve the Most Baffling Puzzles Ever, from Crosswords to Jigsaws to the Meaning of Life<\/em><\/a>. Jacobs entered puzzle competitions, explored the psychology of puzzles, and visited with famous puzzle designers. As part of the book launch, Jacobs created a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/contest.thepuzzlerbook.com\/?utm_campaign=Recomendo&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">puzzle contest with a $10,000 prize<\/a>. I can\u2019t wait to win. \u2014 MF<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tutorials on maker components<\/strong><br \/>\nThe inventor Tim Hunkin released another season of his fantastic video tutorials introducing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLtaR0lZhSyANYB0Xxb9OSp47pHuQmj3Ol&amp;utm_campaign=Recomendo&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">The Secret Life of Components<\/a>, as in the motors, linkages, sensors and other parts you might use to build things. His hands-on knowledge is vast, and his BBC-perfected presentation skills are perfect for walking you through the plus and minuses of any part you ever might use.
