She is one of the original nomadic travel bloggers and it would be hard for anyone to top this thorough article:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legalnomads.com\/digital-nomads\/?utm_campaign=Nomadico&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">Resources for Digital Nomads and Remote Workers<\/a>.<br><br><strong>2022 Data and Cashless Transactions<\/strong><br>Every year the Pew Research Group releases its\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2022\/12\/13\/striking-findings-from-2022\/?utm_campaign=Nomadico&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cstriking findings\u201d<\/a>\u00a0from the past year and at least one of them will probably surprise you. Apparently, 41% of Americans said this year that\u00a0<em>none<\/em>\u00a0of their purchases in a typical week were in cash, a huge increase. Are you getting free travel out of all those electronic expenditures? I like the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.referyourchasecard.com\/215n\/6NPYSBGCZ3?utm_campaign=Nomadico&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">Chase United Explorer card<\/a>\u00a0because it gets you a free checked bag on all flights (not just domestic ones like AA and Delta) and two free lounge passes per year upon renewal, easily negating the Year Two onward $95 annual fee.\u00a0<br><br><strong>The Madeira Digital Nomad Experiment<\/strong><br>One annoying media deficiency that will probably never go away is the lack of follow-up stories that answer the question, \u201cSo\u00a0<strong>then<\/strong>\u00a0what happened?\u201d\u00a0<em>Wired<\/em>\u00a0rectified this recently with an in-depth story about what transpired after the Portuguese island of Madeira tried to set up\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/digital-nomad-village-madeira-portugal\/?utm_campaign=Nomadico&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">a village for remote workers<\/a>\u00a0in a town with a population of 4,300 in early 2021. The story is still in progress, but this hits a lot of the inherent struggles of trying to introduce a deluge of newcomers to a local established community, including housing and communication.<br><br><strong>Where NOT to Go in 2023<\/strong><br>This time of year, every big travel pub is trying to tell you where you\u00a0<em>must<\/em>\u00a0go in the next 12 months. Kudos to\u00a0<em>Fodor\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0for being one of the few mainstream travel publications willing to be a necessary buzzkill amidst all the hype. In their\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fodors.com\/news\/news\/fodors-no-list-2023?utm_campaign=Nomadico&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">2023 No List<\/a>\u00a0they\u2019ve highlighted a few spots we might want to give a rest: Lake Tahoe, parched parts of the American West, Amsterdam, the Amalfi Coast, and Ko Phi Phi for a start.
