Xmas trees/Quotable/Proton Mail
Recomendo: issue no. 22
Holiday:
For the past decade I’ve found the place to get least expensive decent-sized real Christmas trees is at the local Home Depot (video on how they make them). The trees are wrapped up commodities. I don’t even bother unwrapping them to inspect them before I toss one into the car; the trees are all extremely uniform. I haven’t been disappointed. — KK
Quotable:
“Passion exists at the intersection of three or more things you’re really curious about.” — Steven Kotler (CD)
Email App:
Proton Mail offers free end-to-end encrypted email in a clean and simple ad-free web interface (there’s also a smartphone app). The company is based in Switzerland, a country that offers strong privacy protection. In addition, the company says it doesn’t have access to the plaintext of your emails, so they couldn’t give it to a third party even if they wanted to. — MF
Travel Tip:
Hertz rental cars have an option called Manager’s Special. You agree to take whatever car they give you at below Economy car rates. You’ll get at least an economy car, but usually a bigger car, maybe even a nice car. — KK
Hair tool:
These spin pins are essential for holding your hair in place in a perfect little bun. They never loosen or fall out, even while working out. My only problem is that I’m always losing them and rebuying them. — CD
Software Tip:
The Application Shortcut Mapper has visual keyboard shortcut guides for several popular applications, including most Adobe applications. Spending a few minutes with it could save you a lot of time down the road. I wish I’d learned about it years ago. — MF
