One Trick At a Time
At the moment, this baseball hitting robot is marvelous. Amazing it works at all, though it needs to swing harder. In a few years, it will seem as obvious and boring as a wheel, as better models come up to the plate.
Really smart, capable robots will not appear in a flash. They will creep upon us one tiny trick at a time.
